Helmed by the dynamic duo of Craig Yoe and Clizia Gussoni, Yoe Books (in association with IDW Publishing) have been creating beautifully produced and gorgeously designed collections of arcane and occasionally bizarre comic book history since 2010.

My video work for them has included promotional movies for several of their archival book collections, the business-to-business “Yippie Yi-Yoe Society” campaign (an homage to the classic 1960’s Merry Marvel Marching Society fan club), and the Lifebuoy “School of Five” handwashing initiative, which utilizes comic book characters designed by Yoe Studio.

My print work includes the cover design, interior layout and general production of the 148 page hardcover book “The Worst of Eerie Publications”, which won the 2014 Ghastly Award for Best Archival Horror Comic Collection.

The Worst of Eerie Publications – Book Design and Layout
Featuring 21 Eerie Publications stories collected and meticulously restored by horror comics historian Mike Howlett, I was responsible for the cover design, interior layout and general production of this entry into the Yoe Books “Chilling Archives of Horror Comics” series.

Though Eerie Publications are probably best known for their gruesome and over-the-top cover images, the focus here is on the story actual contents, which feature the artwork of Chic Stone, Dick Ayers, Domingo Mandrafina and many others.

A 148 page hardcover with varnished endpaper and cover details,”The Worst Of Eerie Publications” was the 2014 Ghastly Award Winner for Best Archival Collection.

School of Five – Promotional Video
Comic book centric promo video for Yoe Studio/ Lifebuoy Soap spotlighting their “School of Five” handwashing program, created for the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con International.

Each year, more than 2 million children don’t live to see their 5th birthday because of diarrhea and pneumonia. Many of these deaths can be prevented through the simple habit of regular handwashing with soap, and Lifebuoy wants to change the hygiene practices of one billion people in Asia, Africa and Latin America by promoting handwashing with soap.

[…] Taken from rare comic books from a who’s who of publishers, all the comics are meticulously restored and printed in a beautiful, large-format book. […] Don’t miss Ditko’s Shorts–sure to be a much loved and talked about Ditko treasure!”
